Vfiscal76:
256K RAM is required or the Ethernet board won’t work on your 460F.
Can you please check what the clock has?
Enter command 110 from maintenance mode to its see firmware version and memory size.

Hi Joe,

We have 3 4500 clocks that stopped communicating with ADP. We can ping all 3 and telnet to all 3, but they will not register with ADP for some reason. Is there a way to “force” a registration?

Scott,

Can you ping and telnet to them from the server that is doing clock communications?

Hi Joe,

We have a bunch of the 4500 clocks. We are having issues with some of the employee badges being able to be read on some of them. Some will work for a bit and then they stop working. I took an employee badge to a clock that it was not bale to be read at. I swiped it and received a badge read error. I then swiped the maintenance badge and then swiped the employee badge again and it displayed the badge number. Any thoughts on a solution?

Karriann:
The most likely cause for this is that you have home-made badges, and the bar code placement is not quite in the right spot.

Hi Joe,
I apologize if this is a duplicate submission. Our program “hand punch for etime” has stopped pulling punches from our 4000 clocks. When you click on it, an hour glass appears briefly and disappears. According to IT there are processes running but it does not seem to be completing the request.

IT was going to try and use COMMLINK to retrieve the punches but we can’t figure out the 6 digit device id. I found your discussion on the 5 digit device id for the 400 clocks and in that mindset we tried 000000 (6 zeros) but were unsuccessful.

Can you please offer us some guidance on either how to reestablish communication with the clocks or how to retrieve or reset the device id on clocks?

I thank you in advance.
Joy

The device ID is the six-digit password for the time clocks. Both 400 and 4000 series use a six-digit device ID.
Use the maintenance badge to get into the clock configuration to view or change the device ID on the 4000 series. With the 400 series it’s located at Procedure 30 Step 01.

I have some facilities that are still running the old Gatekeeper Central software to upload to the 420G door controllers. The software is running on Windows XP machines.

Do you happen to know the latest OS that was supported for the Gatekeeper Central software before Kronos pulled the plug on it?

Daniel:
The latest software OS’s Kronos supported for GKC were: Windows 98, 2000, XP, and NT 4.0 SP5.

We have the new Kronos Intouch timeclocks with fingerprint reader thru ADP and are having trouble with cross-punching. ADP tech has not been able to help. What could be the issue? I am not seeing the device management application options is that something we have access to or only adp tech?

If you don’t see the Device Manager tab up top in Workforce, first check the F.A.P.
If your Function Access Profile is correct and you still don’t have the Device Manager tab, check the lite blue arrow to the top right in Workforce. It only appears if more tabs are not showing, and helpfully lights up in the direction of the extra tabs. Also, you must be logged onto Kronos through an app server that has WDM installed on it.

FYI: ioProx badges are not Kronos compatible.

FYI: call clkcnt will return a cached value if run previously. You can do a recount if you need the most current count. Depending on the size and number of clockfiles, this could take a few minutes. Avoid doing this during payroll processing if possible.

Is there any tool to convert Kronos TKC 4.3 dbase4 (or Sybase ASA) database to some other format.
The db is krdb.db

Having an issue with trying to get badges to read on a kronos 480. Continues to give me the 11 unknown employee on display. wondering if i have to remove the kronos 480 out of gate schedules and into timekeeper schedules.

The “11 UNKNOWN EMPLOYEE” error is for the 420 gate terminals only. It means the badge that was swiped is not on any gate list.
Your 480 was being used as a gate clock and needs to get back to its regular function. Easiest way to accomplish this is a cold start.

thanks Joe!!! I was able to get past that part. I also used the procedure 22 step 1 and set the value to 255 to have anyone be able to swipe a card. Now I have another issue where users are not able to key their numbers in manually. they usually hit # and they are able to enter the department then hit * and enter their badge number. Currently when they hit # or * nothing happens. Is there a way to turn that on?
